Der Fallout 3 Publisher Bethesda Softworks kauft den weltweit bekannten und erfolgreichen Spieleentwickler id Software, welche bereits den Shooter Rage angekündigt hat.
Es schlug wie eine Bombe ein, als der Geschäftsführer Robert Altman in einer Pressemitteilung des amerikanischen Publishers Bethesda Softworks bekannt gab, das der amerkanische Spieleentwickler id Software von Bethesda Softworks gekauft wurde.

Our role will be to provide publisher support through Bethesda Softworks and give id Software the resources it needs to grow and expand.” |
Weiter wurde bekannt gegeben, das der übernommene Spieleentwickler id Software wie vor der Übernahme weiter an seinen Spieleprojekten unabhängig unter der Führung von John Carmack arbeiten wird. Für das Jahr 2010 wurde der längst angekündigte Endzeit Shooter Rage angekündigt.
